It is common for inverted-T pier caps to also function as straddle bents. The superstructure only coincides with part of the cap length. Extending the ledge as out to out of the cap length is not a desirable detail in all situations.

The current workaround for this is manual solids editing, which is fine for plan production, but provides incorrect volumes for quantities.
