Right now section strand patterns can be input and chosen from automatically by the auto design feature, but I feel this is a bit backwards thinking. Rather than inputting all possible strand patters why not set a template strand pattern with as many strands as possible, then the auto design feature removes strands as needed. This would look like the current strand pattern input screen in the beam tab. One would add all the strands in the pattern allowed by their DOT, then the auto design feature could use that pattern to find the best option.
