Not sure why this is just an idea to create this functionality? This should be functional now? I bet if the Designers and Engineers that use survey data as a reference file everyday knew about this, the vote count would be crazy! I'm sure all those guys love to hover over points waiting on a popup window to see the basic info from point. It was so easy back in the Geopak days when you just toggled on to show that info and created a points file for those guys to see that info. They could easily use as reference as needed to assist with design. I believe the decorators were an awesome idea, but pointless if you have to be in the active file. I seriously doubt there is anyone out there that provides survey data that wants anyone but themselves in their active file, scary.
