Now, if you select a linear entity and then take the open profile model tool,selection is not taken into account: You are aksed to select an entity.

That contradicts main function of selection : Selection is typically used to indicate you want to act on the selection as a next step, after having selected it.

And leads to user frustration, playing with the MiniToolbar to get profile command is not always easy to use in dense models with dozens of references.

The Contextual menu (right-clic) does offer “Open Profile Model”, but

• Selecting a linear entity

• Taking the “Open Profile model” tool from Ribbon

Should also work.
