Can we please the functionality to create 2D rails? Currently if the alignment has no active profile, rails will not be generated. But it's an important feature that's useful for track designers, but also for interdisciplinary design.
Rail separation helps us label out ip, possible position of LLB, fouling and clearance points etc.

Hi James - 3D line strings are only used as visuals as the 3-D aspect of them distorts gauge and actual position of the running edge
I have already noticed that at certain locations, 3D line strings in ORD would warp the gauge from 1432 to 1431.999, which doesn't sound like a lot, but would affect our recording of IP/Nose coordinates.
Also preferably, we should be aiming not to produce dummy verticals or workarounds to make the software work.
As it stands, we have had to double check all our coordinates in PRT to ensure they're correct.
Thank you.
Is it reasonable for your workflow to make a dummy Active Profile or set the existing ground line as Active until a proposed profile is ready? If not, could you elaborate? I want to understand the issue as best as possible. Thanks!
