Finite Element Analysis for curved and skewed bridges

Curved and skewed bridges often contain challenging geometric features, such as deck corners, diaphragm/cross-frame connections to girders. In these areas, the software is frequently unable to generate a reliable mesh using only the basic mesh setting that allows users to specify element size. I would encourage the development team to implement more advanced meshing controls, similar to those available in industry-standard software such as ABAQUS and ANSYS. Enhanced meshing options would help address complex geometries and reduce the likelihood of model failures or crashes.

Another limitation is that the analysis appears to run on a single processor core. Curved and skewed bridge models are often computationally intensive and can require a significant amount of time to complete. Enabling multi-core or parallel processing would substantially improve analysis performance and reduce run times for large, complex models.
