There's a process that seems a bit confusing in order to create plan profile sheets.
We thought this was the desired workflow:
• Create 2D Plan/Profile file for sheet creation
• Reference in terrain file and make terrain active
• Reference in alignment file
• Use view control to tile plan view and profile view of alignment
• Place name boundaries for plan and profile
However, when done this way the alignment will not profile. We have found that the following needs to be done first in order to profile the alignment in the Plan/Profile file.
• In alignment file, reference in terrain and make it active
• View alignment profile and make it active
It seems like if you reference a terrain and alignment to another file and then make the terrain active, it should be able to profile in that file. Is there a reason why this can't work so we don't have to reference the terrain and generate the profile in the alignment file.
