I Agree that Analyze Point tool provides a workaround, but I have to invoke this command for each and every cross section individually. It is, I think, I huge loss to our ability to verify our work to not be able to easily verify locations between plan and cross section views.
Definitely needed - a "workaround" is to use the Analyze Point tool to select an element in the 2d model and you will see a crosshair in the real 2d location when moving around the Dynamic XS view.
