In Power RailTrack and before that in Inrail there was a tool called something like "connect element" or something quite similar. What it did was to connect an element belonging to the alignment but was not in its correct location to the alignment and moved it to the right place and made it tangent. Sometimes after editing an alignment when elements get out of position it is just impossible to get them back in place.

Yes, but sometimes if the elements get out of position because of changes you have done they don´t show up in the geometry connector.
...and with the connect element you can also build an alignment step by step with one element at a time - without having any end element which is useful sometimes.
