Separate 3D line and 3D object for pipes to different levels.

In Drainage & Utilities, the 3D line and the 3D object for a pipes(conduit/link) is placed on same level. It would be great to have them on different levels - also because it can be a demand from from clients in Denmark, that the line is placed on another level when model is delivered.

Putting the 3D line on a separate level to the 3D solid can be done with existing functionality. The key is to use two different element templates in the feature definition for the conduit, as shown in the attached picture, because each element template can use a different level.

3D lines along the invert are more helpful for contractors than the solids when importing into software such as Trimble. A different level for lines and solids would be helpful.

Adding to this idea the option to create or not the 3D line.

This is really a problem when exporting ifc models. The same object gets exported in two versions: a 3D pipe element and a 3D line geometry. Both with the same name, same properties, same levels, same everything.

In any advanced BIM objective, this is really big problem. Basically, in any quantities extraction, the pipes quantities will be doubled.. And there is no easy way to filter that, since all properties, features, levels will be the same in this doppelganger case.

Different levels would at least make it easier to post filter the results.. There would be one difference..
