It would be extremely useful to have the option to generate a 2D shape of the top planar surface of a 3D component that updates as the corridor changes. This would be similar to how corridor points can already generate a 2D line if specified in the point feature definition.

Examples of this being useful: Use the 3D cut/fill mesh generated from a corridor to create a 2D hatch that can be displayed on plans, like for a seeding area, and have it update as the corridor changes. Display the 2D area of a certain pavement section on plan sheets with a specific pattern or color based on the pavement area in a corridor

The corridor already calculates the planar area of components, but there is no quick way to generate a shape from top of the components.
