I've posted before about the need to be able to use a selection set of lines or linestrings to create named boundaries. A nice compromise or even an addition to this would be to be able to assign a different baseline to existing named boundaries. When a survey is done, they take cross sections using a baseline provided to them or from historical data. The designers end up using a new baseline. If you could re-assign the named boundaries created by the surveyor to the new baseline, that would save having to recreate cross sections using the snap to end point method we have now.
