This may already be on the todo list along with other things for Topo Import, but we need to be able to see the source data in the properties of a Terrain created by Topo Import so we have a record of what it's based on. The tool briefly displays this information when creating the Terrain but afterwards there is no way to find out

You can manually do this with Item Types.
I assume you are referring to manually entering the data into an item type attached to the terrain? Would be better for this information to be integrated to reduce risk of error and streamline the process and not rely on creating an item type for terrains but that is a solution, thanks.
